Digger's Collage

The family came to us with the request to do a collage for Digger's funeral. Here are the original photographs, they ranged in size from 2 inches square (boy with hat) to 3x5 snapshots.

We asked some questions about Digger's personality and his relationship to the people in the photos with him (he is with his sister and her child in the photo with the woman and the baby ... he is with his wife in the photo in front of the car). Then we played with different layouts until we arrived at the layout below.

The finished photo is 11x14 and cost about $300 (8 scans, art work to clean up originals, collage design and finished 11x14 print). Turn around in this case was two days in order to have it done in time for the funeral. There was no additional rush charge as we were able to fit it into our schedule without working into the wee hours. We really enjoy this creative process of creating a visual story from sometimes random photos. We also appreciate the trust given to us, to be able to add to the families memories in this way.
